Good Times is a snowboarding movie that was filmed during season 04/05 and 06/06. Shralp! mentioned this film in a podcast back in september. Anyway here’s a trailer for it, it looks good and it has a cool track in it called “Sonata rabidus” by “Modus operandi”. The makers are FSP and Flatlight Films. Check it out if you haven’t already. You can buy it from extremevideo.fi.
If you’ve seen the latest James Bond movie, “Casino Royale” you might have recognized Sebastien Foucan as “Mollaka” in the chase part through the construction site. For you who don’t know who he is, he is the founder of free running and can be seen in the documentaries “Jump London” and the sequel “Jump Britain”. Below is a edited clip with the part from “Casino Royale”.
Shane Cross, skateboarder from Australia, was killed in an motorbike accident in Melbourne two days ago. The swedish skateboarder Ali Boulala was riding the motorcycle when the accident occured. His condition is critical but stable. Sad sad news from the other side of the world.
This years Holden jackets are more hi tech than ever. But at the same time the designs are more simple than ever. After riding in the Fm jacket last season and cruising the streets in the Stanley Hemp I bought the Spectator purely for shredding.
A good, clean and simple jacket. It’s technical enough with waterproof/breathability of 10k/10k and it holds all your stuff with two good side pockets and a interior goggle pocket. The one thing I’m actually missing are the good interior pockets of the Stanley jacket. But I guess you can’t get it all.
The Spectator jacket comes in nice colours such as red and blue as well as more mellow down colours black and brown. With the bright colours your friends can always see you on the mountain. I got the blue jacket and it’s really nice. As usual with Holden it’s a more slim fit and the arms are a bit longer. A good fit in other words.
Here’s a bit unsual post from me. Resource Revival is a company that design products from used bicycle parts. So if you’re a bike fiend this might be something for you. I like the idea and my favourite is the chain bowl which costs $88.
After complaining about my boots, Burton Hail, for nearly three years I finally made the right move and bought a new pair. My main problem with the Hail was that they somehow managed to expand at least a whole size. I guess I should’ve bought smaller ones. But apparently this is a wellknown problem with Burton boots (anyway that’s what the guy at my local board store told me). So anyway, after trying some other Burton models as well as other brands I bought the Thirty Two Lashed.
The boots have a nice and snug fit. They are really easy to lace up and have a good heel grip. Good support all the way. The big difference from the Hail I guess is the padding. The Hail have some sort of Air while the Lashed is just a plain boot. Still the dampening is good. A good solid and quite simple boot. Sort of back to the basics.
