Review: Banana Technology in powder
Always remember to drink much water when snowboarding.
We´we written about both the Skate Banana and the Phoenix from Lib Tech. And as you´ve already read we´re more than pleased with both boards.
On our trip to Ischgl, Austria, we got the chance to try them out in some deep powder. In 2,5 days it snowed more than half a meter (50cm). The slopes were litterally drowned in snow. At first we even tried to get our hands on some proper powder boards. But for some weird reason none of the rentals in the whole of Ischgl have any powder snowboards (or skis for that matter). So we had to do with our Lib tech boards. We even tried our Gnu Riders Choice for a few minutes, but if just didn´t work.
So now it´s a fact – The Banana technology is excellent in powder! These boards are way better than anything we´we ridden in deep powder and they work just as well in the slopes. Sure you have to lean backwards and keep the nose floating with this much pow. But still – the feeling you get is amazing. And since we ride the Banana boards a bit shorter (Skate Banana in 56 and the Phoenix in 60) we still have the freestyle ability.
